The Water is silent

The fish in the water is silent,
the animals on the earth is noisy,
the bird in the air is singing.
But man has in him the silence of the sea,
the noise of the earth
and the music of the air.
The meaning of our self
is not to be found in its separateness from God and others,
but in the ceaseless realisation of yoga,
of union.
The newer people,
of this modern age,
are more eager to amass than
to realize.
O silencio da água
Os peixes na água são silenciosos,
os animais na terra são barulhentos,
o pássaro no ar está cantando.
mas, o homem tem em si o silêncio do mar,
o ruído da terra
e a música do ar.
O significado de nossa independência
não é para ser encontrado na separação de Deus e dos outros,
mas na realização incessante da ioga,
de união.
As pessoas mais novas,
nesta idade moderna,
são mais ansiosas para acumular
do que para perceber.
